the biggest plot twist of ib is that, in the end, garry really is just… some guy.
he gets thrown into this haunted gallery full of homicidal paintings, and in this gallery he runs into this, like, 9 yr old and he quickly decides that he is willing to take a bullet to the chest for said 9 yr old not 30 MINUTES after meeting her.
he’s not secretly magic and he’s not secretly evil. he’s just got strong moral values. dying for someone, even if it’s the right thing to do in your mind, is MUCH easier said then done.
“if only one of us is able to escape, it should be the 9 yr old kid who has her whole life ahead of her.” It’s ONE thing to acknowledge that and agree with it, and another to like… actually make that decision, y’know? garry’s such a good bud ;-;
